We Help You Find the TV that is Right for You

What is the Right TV for You?
Find out which TV is right for you by reading reviews of LCD, Plasma, and Rear Projection HDTVs as well as DVD Players. Do you want a LCD or Plasma TV? Which is the best buy?  Which has the best quality?  Which is the least expensive?  Do you want a TV/DVD combo?  These are questions you ask yourself when looking for a TV.  This is okay, I'm here to help.  I have named the best televisions in the four categories of: Best Buy, Best Quality, Most Inexpensive, and the Best TV/DVD combos in the 21"-31", 32"-41", and 42"-52" TV size ranges.  The top of the page has links to pages where I rate the best TV in each category for LCD and Plasma TVs.  For each TV I have named, I have written a review so that you can figure out if the TV is right for you.  Below you can find many terms that you should know when researching TVs.
Things to Know before Buying a TV

The different TV types

Plasma- Plasma TVs offer a larger screen selection, a better contrast ratio, and do not blur as much when watching fast moving images, and have a wider viewing angle.  If you are going to just be watching TV and movies and turning off your TV when you leave the room, I suggest getting a plasma as they tend to be cheaper than same size LCDs.

LCD-LCD TVs do not suffer the burn in (when a plasma is left on too long without the picture moving i.e. paused) which may result in the picture being burned into the TV.  LCDs also do not heat up like plasmas and have nearly twice as long of a life span. If you want a TV 32” or less you will be forced to get a LCD as Plasma HDTVs do not go that small.  If you plan on playing video games where you will pause a game for 10-15 minutes at a time I suggest getting a LCD as it is much less susceptible to the burn in factor.

Projection TVs- Projection TVs tend to be much less expensive then their LCD/Plasma counterparts as larger sized TVs can sometimes go for $1000s less.  The problem with a projection TV is that you cannot sit it on a table or hang it on a wall, it ways much more, and it has a much greater depth (usually 15”-18”).  If you have enough room on the floor, a projection HDTV may be the route to go as they are much more inexpensive.
